"We were hoping to get the album out before all this happened," Angus said. "They were getting ideas together for packaging and video promo things. And then that virus thing came along. It kind of put everyone on hold."
It's been three years since MAGNUM brought out "The Valley Of Tears - The Ballads", a compilation that focused on the British rock act's quiet, more otherworldly and dreamy side. the rap - metal - rock outfit Linkin Park is back in the studio recording a new album that hopefully rock more than 2014's "The Hunting Party" album did.
The band has posted a picture on Facebook of singer Chester Bennington laying down vocal tracks, with the accompanying caption: "Back to work this week."
Linkin Park began work on a new album late last year, with the band's Mike Shinoda telling NME: "I have no idea what it'll sound like yet. It won't sound like 'The Hunting Party'. We like to surprise people."
"The Hunting Party" was released in June 2014 and produced the hit singles "Guilty All The Same" and "Until It's Gone". The album was described as something of a return to the rap-rock sound of the first two albums, "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora".
Chester Bennington spent a couple of years touring as the singer of Stone temple Pilots but they split last November.

As a band, we also tried to come up with a few unique items which I feel are the ultimate collector's items!" We are a bit surprised to learn that the surf punk band The Offspring has sold the rights to their entire catalog of Columbia Records master recordings and the publishing rights for all its songs to for some $35 million.
The Offspring has sold the recorded masters for the six albums it made for Columbia Records, along with the publishing rights to the songs on all nine of its studio efforts. The master recordings for the band's first three albums remain with Epitaph, the label that originally released them.
Among the Epitaph albums is 1994's "Smash", the breakout blockbuster that sold more than six million copies in the U.S. and featured the hits "Come Out And Play", "Self-Esteem" and "Gotta Get Away". Included in the Columbia catalog are 1997's "Ixnay On The Hombre", which sold 1.4 million copies, 1998's "Americana", which moved five million, and 2000's platinum-selling "Conspiracy Of One".
The Offspring have sold a total of 17 million copies of their nine albums to date.
Frontman Dexter Holland thinks The Offspring's albums have all had a consistent style. "I think that there's a thread that runs through all of our albums, for sure," he said. "I mean, people say there's a sound to our band. I don't know exactly what that sound is, but people seem to recognize it when they hear our records, and like any of our other records, there are songs that people might not expect to hear from us, but people seem to know it still sounds like us."
Holland said in a statement about the catalog sale, "We felt that having the right caretaker for our catalog, both the masters and the publishing, is incredibly important to the future of our career."
It obviously is all about the money...
